Busy Bee!

​Hello everyone, 

I know i keep promising and then i disappear, life has been too busy lately and i am just trying to cope with it. So much has happened since my last post here. First i thought i will wrtie it all in different posts  but now i am thinking to just add everything here. 

Well to begin with my dear darling Pepsi left us gracefully on 28th April to enjoy the beauties of Dog Heaven

I do miss her alot, she was my best companion she was there when i had no one else to share. I learnt so much from here and we both grew up together in so many ways. I will always miss her no matter what. 😦 But life moves on. I am just glad that she didnt really go through any long term illness, she was fine that morning, had just gotten a lil weak but the vet had already warned me that she is too old now, as long as she is eating and active she is good to go. She would have turned 12 years old in July. I guess for a miniature poodle that is a good enuff average age.

I hope she is doing fine and is happy with all the other dogs on doggy heaven 🙂

Next, there has been a trasitional phase for my daughter in ao many things.

i finally transfered my Daughter to a big girls bed, so far she likes it 🙂 i figured now is a good time to make a transition, especially with her 3rd birthday coming up and after summer vacationa she would go to Nursery. 

Also we stopped her middle of the night feeding. Yup she still woke up twice in the middle of the night for a  milk bottle and starting from 1st april it took a while but i got her to sleep all throughout the night. 

In summer vacations she attended a summer school in her school and totally lovd it.i know she is tooo small for all that but i want her to know that summer vacations means a time full of learning different skills and activities instead of sitting idle at home in front of tv and wasting time. I dont know thats just my way of thinking 🙂

Right after summer she started her Nursery and was too excited to be promoted from pre-nursery to a new class and have new friends. School ia going great

And just this week she turned 3 😀 time seems to have flown by and it feels like just yesterday when i shared my preggy story and then the sudden labor and delivery when she made an emergency landing much before her time. It all feels like a dream. Shez turning into a big girl and soon to be a big sister tooo. Yup thats right. Soon there will be an addition to our family 🙂 but this time around i was too occupied to weite my pregnancy blogs or share my updates, i guess with a toddler its difficult to mnage alot of things. Also thia time around i have been more irritated and my hormones have been acting up way tooo much so i just didn’t really bother writing anything about it. I might later but no promises 

Ok so the cat is out of the bag, sorry for a no picture post coz am writing this from my cell ohone and i cant seem to figure out how to put up pics here.

Aright then

Pepsi’s Health updates

Saturday it is and i took Pepsi to the vet today for her chk up. I told him i haven’t noticed any discharge lately but just a slight mucus today. he checked and said yes there is a lil wetness but no puss for now. told me to continue antibiotic for another two days and then stop and bring on Saturday. He wants to see how it goes after stopping the medicine. Also told me to clip a lil hair since the weather has suddenly gone warmer. so very soon i will b giving her a lil hair cut.

For now things look much better and Pepsi looks happy. May be because i have been giving her more time then i had been able to in the last year or so. Ive changed her diet a lil and she seems to be getting on the health ladder. i hope i can bring her back in shape 🙂

Pepsi’s Updates

The results are in and as the doctor thought, its Poymetra. also there are traces of a few lil cysts in her Uterus.

The Doctor said he will not risk the surgery with Pepsi at this age so he will carry on treating her with medicine. It would have been more dangerous if it was a close case but the good thing is that it is an open Poymetra and she will keep discharging it. He did say that as long as she is walking running and eating normal its all good but i have to accept reality and make my mind and know that for this breed Pepsi is now living her golden years. 😥
For now i cannot even think about a horrible thing like this but i cannot deny the fact either.

I am really hoping for her to get better with medicine. i have to give her antibiotic this whole week and take her to the vet on Saturday. “Fingers crossed”

Concerned about Pepsi

I am lil concerned about Pepsi.

For those who are new to my blog or reading this for the first time, Pepsi is my french poodle, 11 years old and ive had her since she was 2.5 months. We have been thru a lot and have helped each other recover over different things. so yes there is A LOT of bonding. and yes this dog on my page is her

Yesterday i gave Pepsi a bath. and as i was brushing her, i noticed a slight discharge, that got me concerned, also i couldn’t help but notice how thin she has become, . So i took her to the vet today, he told me it cud be puss in uterus which is common in old age, but ti b on a safer side i should get her blood profile and uterus ultrasound done, he told me usually this condition (pyometra) is treated with a surgery and removing of uterus but because of her old age, if this is he case we will treat her with medicines. He told me to start her on an antibiotic as soon as i get the blood profile n ultrasound done. so right after i left is clinic i rushed to the animal Lab and get the blood profile and ultrasound done. ill get the result on Monday. till then i am hoping al to b fine and i hope there is nothing serious behind Pepsi going so weak

She does look all fine ad happy, i gave her a lil haircut as well yesterday so that i can manage he grooming better which with a toddler gets a lil difficult.

Updates on Pepsi

Just a lil note to update every one on Pepsi’s health progress,

Its been a while since she dislocated her bone on 20th may (almost two months now), then had maggot attack first on her right cheek, then on her left, n then there was a heat spot. so much went on with my poor lil sweetheart. but now alot is better, her maggot attack skin healed perfectly, the hair are back, i cant even tell where it was any more so dats a good thing 🙂
Her heat spot got better too, since i started to give her a bath every two weeks, and got her room a fly proof net, so am all relaxed now knowing no matter where, there is not gonna be another maggot attack. no fly is coming n giving eggs on my baby any more. As for her leg, well i guess i gotta live with it the way it is now. she uses it pretty nicely to walk, fast walk, scratch her face n all and at times while running, just at times while running she picks it high in air n runs wid just one leg. Kills me to see her dat way but luking at her happy face i really admire the way she has coped up her pain.
I gave her a really short hair cut on 1st june, so its easy for me to maintain n give her a bath, easy for me to see if there are any more maggots or heat spots, since it was difficult to see any thing in her long hair, plus the weather is still hot so i figured a short hair cut will do her good

i even started to keep her indoors as much as i could so that the maggot attack scar heals perfectly without another fly jumping into it. took this pic on 14th June

Then i got into a photo session with her after giving her a bath on 4th July while she enjoyed a natural blow dry from the air coming from the window and enjoying the outside view at the same time 🙂

8th July she enjoys a cool evening in the garden 🙂

and on 12th July she enjoyed the car ride with new leather covers while i came back from my dad’s 🙂

Bad Days for Pepsi :'(

so much has happened between then n now  My poor baby has been going thru such a hard time since 20th May when she dislocated her right pelvic bone, the doc said that the bone will sit in its place automatically with the pressure of the muscles and put on a bandage for two weeks which he took off on 1st June, well for now she is only only walking slowing on her right leg, but pick it in air when she wants to walk a lil faster 😦 Kills me to see her this way but i guess it will take time?
Then got her first ever Maggot attack on her right cheek on 1st june, i felt so guilty coz i felt i haven’t been taking good care of her coz of my own health, got the med put in by the doc, Two dead maggots fell at home dat that and n on 2nd June the Doc took out 2 dead maggots and the cheek opening started to heal nicely
As if that wasn’t enough she got a 2nd maggot attach on her left cheek on 6th june, again took her to the vet he put in the med, a few fell off and today 7th June the doc took out 3 small dead maggots, n gave me polyfax ointment to apply after a spirit swap.
Today (7th june), Morning i noticed a heat spot on her left elbow 😦 the Doc told her to apply Betnovit N cream on it and keep her clean, in the afternoon i got her bathed so that she is clean and kept her in my room during the afternoon time so that the hot weather do not disturb her. I let her out in her room in the evening. At night i took her out so she could so do her business and after she was done she scratched her right cheek (the first maggot attack place that had almost healed up but i saw a lil swelling and thought will take her on Monday for her followup and get this checked too) n made it all bloody. For now i cleaned the wound with spirit swap and applied polyfax gonna take her tomorrow morning to the vet. 
Snifffff I really hope she gets better real soon. i hate my self for not being able to take good care of her lately 😦  The groomer who came to give her a bath today said that her skin is getting sensitive coz of her age (will turn 9 years old on 1st July) and so these things will happen on n off now :s but honestly. Part of me blame my self. It feels like am going to the vet every day now, not that i have an problem with that, any thing for my lil baby but i reallllllllly hope she gets better real soon 😦 I miss the happy lil baby she was, even though right now she is all trying to be ok but i know she is not and prolly is in pain 😥

 

Pepsi’s Recovery 23rd May 2013

Before i start my post, i would like to thank you all who kept pepsi in their prayers 🙂

Today before i took her to the doc, she was already putting her right foot on floor to stand n in slow walking, used it a lil, was putting slight pressure on it. The doc made her walk and was really happy to see the progress and said that this bone will adjust in the socket its self with muscle pressure. So no big procedure for her now, this will take a lil time but all will be good. He gave a few good movements to her leg n then put a crape bandage with the plastic tape on to support her bone in right place n restrict her movement as much as it can. will be opening it after 2 weeks and hopefully all will be well 

Soo glad and relieved :)))) now she luks like she has a lil pamper on hehehee my adorable lil brave babe she is 🙂 Love her to bits

A sudden Tragedy :'(

On Monday (20th May) i went to my dad’s house as a usual weekly routine, the lift was not working so i climbed a few stairs, with pepsi, slowly, i can’t rush now anyways coz i get tired, came home n she went under my bed, probably had to bend a lil (she has done this a million times) came out screaming instantly, n i freak out, took a while to calm her down, i had no idea what happened, i looked at all her legs to look for signs of blood incase sumthing has wounded her or bitten her but nuffin, so rushd her to doc. She wasn’t putting her right foot down, doc gave her pain killer n antibiotic n said if she didn’t put foot down by tomorrow, bring in for Xray. We thought Pepsi cramped her right leg n I rushd her to pirzada, she got pain killer n antibiotic shot, will hav to take her for xray tmrow if she dsnt put her leg down till then

Then our car broke down right out side the vet’s office n had to wait for mechanic in hot hot weather n shinning sun, Pepsi sits in car while mechanic checks car

It was sooo hot, that i went out n got a bottle for my self n one for my dad, and Thank God I had cocomo’s empty wrapper in my bag…… Made it a make shift water container for pepsi

Came back home and My lil baby didnt move so much, kept limping n wont put her right leg down sits in one spot n still luks happy 

My brave baby luks all happy and content, poor thing 😦

Finally on Tuesday morning took Pepsi for an Xray coz she still didn’t pout her foot down. i was shocked to see the Xray :((

 Apparently Pepsi dislocated her right pelvic bone 😦

The vet told me that there are only two ways to fix this, one we can try to put her under sedation and place the bone back in socket, but this is such a movement area that i cannot limit the movement and so the bone might spring back outta socket, other option is that i call an orthopedic who will then screw the bone to keep it in place through surgery. meanwhile for now i was to to massage her hip area, he gave her another pain killer shot, i dunno wat good it did but the swelling that had developed on her hip subsided, so i took her to vet again today (wednesday) and asked him what to do now coz its killing me to see her limp like that 😥

Now i have to take her to the Vet tomorrow (thursday) empty stomach, will put her under anesthesia, n put the bone back in socket and will pout a crape bandage for 2-3 weeks, and hopefully the bone will stay in place after that. The vet said he was waiting for the swelling to go so that the bone sits nicely in place and no more tissues are scared. so i really hope that my lil baby gets better after this.

Just wanted to share it all before i move on with life and other beautiful things heading my way. Am sure she is up there happy for me and jumping here n there like she always did.

Date of her Death: 18th April
Cause of Death: A home Accident, some thing fell on her n broke her jaw n she died on the operation table 😥

It still feels unreal n i really hope the guy lied to me n sold her off to some one else n shes still alive. 😦

Happy 10 months to Coffee

Well well well….. time flies so quickly, feels like yeaterday wen I got a little almost 4 months old scared at new home coffee. She was sooo scared that she just wanted to sit behind ur legs, like a barrier to the entire world
We had a few diffrences but together me n her workd this relationship out 🙂
Still a few odds left but am sure we can handle them wid time
So today (6th Feb 2013) my darling coffee turned 10 months old

I was lucky to catch sum good pics of her, otherwise she was too excited to sit at one place for more then a few seconds hehe
